Water & Effluent Treatment Operator
Operators
Port Hawkesbury Paper is currently seeking motivated and skilled individuals to join our Operations team. These full-time positions require shift work and may require the safe and efficient operation of mobile equipment. The pay range for these positions is $30.67 - $34.23 per hour.
Skills/Competency Requirements:
- Ability to work safely and efficiently as part of a team
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced work setting under minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving and time management skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Flexibility to work overtime
Experience/Education Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Post-secondary education is considered an asset
- Experience operating mobile equipment
- Must pass a depth perception test
- Two years of experience in a manufacturing role would be an asset

Water & Effluent Treatment Operator
Port Hawkesbury Paper is currently seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our Water and Effluent Treatment team. This position currently reports to the Water and Wastewater Supervisor and is responsible for the efficient operation of the water treatment and effluent treatment plant. The pay rate for this full-time position is $32.56 per hour and requires shift work.
Skills/Competency Requirements:
- Ability to work safely and efficiently as part of a team
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced work setting under minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent organizational, problem solving and time management skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to climb stairs and lift up to 50 lbs
- Flexibility to work overtime
- This position requires considerable mobility throughout the mill site on a regular/daily basis
Experience/Education Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Post-secondary education - Technology Degree/Diploma (Environment, Chemical, Mechanical) preferred
- Prior experience in a water treatment facility and/or wastewater treatment facility considered an asset
- Water Treatment Class 1 certificate considered an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in process operations
- Valid driver's license
- Must pass a depth perception test
