Port Hawkesbury Paper has an opportunity for a motivated and skilled individual to join our Engineering team.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position will be responsible to support or lead the development of new project/work scopes, maintain project control through budget/schedule tracking, analysis, forecasting and reporting. The Project Engineer will have ownership of projects from initiation to close-out including coordination of project implementation with all stakeholders, effective management of engineering consultants, third party contractors and fabricators, and reporting project outcomes.
Candidates must be capable of performing safely in a highly technical and flexible work environment. The ideal candidate for this position is a team player who is proficient with estimating, scheduling and project controls. The ability to adapt to tight deadlines and frequent changes in priorities, highly motivated, confident in decision making and self-driven. Outstanding problem solving, organizational, computer and communication skills, the ability to manage through influence and teamwork coupled with a strong commitment to a safe work culture.
- 5-10 years’ experience in Project Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical preferred)
- PMP designation preferred
- Professional Engineer or eligible for licensing in Nova Scotia
